Working hand in hand withwomen weavers in a small village located on the shores of Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, Behind the Hill celebrates South American culture and craft by partnering with local artisans who embrace ancestral weaving techniques. The women grow the raw materials right in their own environment—Ixcaco cotton (native brown cotton) & white cotton, as well as the plants, trees, flowers and fruits used to create the natural dyes. Each individual piece takes about three weeks to create, and lasts for a lifetime as a throw or bed blanket.
